Had a lovely day at Rye today ..... Another NWW demo.

Personally sailed on the Kona One with 7.4m OD rig a fair bit today.

Got loads of people out on Kona One, Mahalo and also the Kona 10'5.

Kona 10'5 was the big hitter today with everyone bar none really impressed with it. Strange as wind was super light, and it's a flat water location ..... but people were saying things like 'best board ever', 'turns on a sixpence', 'so smooth to sail', 'amazing how well it goes upwind with such small fin and no daggerboard', and 'where can I buy one' ..... and this isn't salesman bullsh*t either .... people were genuinely impressed !!

One fella (Ben) rocked up for a kite lesson despite the team leaving 4 messages saying the lesson was canned as no wind ..... so sent him out on Mahalo first with a paddle to SUP round the lake while I sorted out the demo kit. Then put him on the Kona One to see how he coped on the smaller board. Next step was to plug in a 4.7m manic into the Mahalo, give him the raw basics and send him over to the other side of the lake with instructions to do the opposite and come back ..... he uphauled, secure position, applied minimal backhand pull and sailed to other side ..... then came back, then went back, then headed back ..... all the while going downwind a bit coz we'd not given him any steering instructions. He even executed a perfect duck gybe by accident !! I sailed down to him on a Kona One with the OD 7.4m rig and towed him back upwind, and he did it all over again.

From now on, he'll be rocking up for kite lessons regardless of wind forecast, and if it's too light for kiting, he's having windsurfing lessons !!

Another good demo as part of NWW, and it was nice to see some people who I'd seen earlier in the week at other demo's also put in another appearance.

Off to Rhossi tomorrow as continuation of the NWW tour of duty .... :-)

I don't care if this is considered a 'pimp', and I know there is lots of use on the 'K' word too .... it's how it was for me today and to be fair, I was WORKING hard promoting the sport, and even had someone SUP'ing !!!
